Studying with a practical focus: the dual study programme of Maritim

Study at IU or iba and gain practical experience at one of the leading family-run hotel chains in Germany. Sounds good, doesn't it? That's exactly what our dual study programme at Maritim is. As a dual student, you will complete the practical phases in various hotels throughout Germany as well as shifting on campus for the theory depending on the time model. This way, you can apply your newly acquired knowledge directly in practice at any time and discuss current issues in your everyday work life, which are the best prerequisites for entering professional life.

Dual education Hotel Management

Every day, people work together behind the scenes of a hotel and no two days are the same: Guests check in and out, meetings and other events take place, and cooking and serving takes place in the restaurant area. And that is by no means all! The hotel industry offers many different tasks and that is exactly what makes the job exciting and promising!

With a dual study programme in hotel management, you learn exactly what is needed in the hotel industry. In addition to the basics of business administration and the special features of the hotel industry, you will acquire a wide range of skills that will make you a sought-after employee with real opportunities for the future. If you wish, you can even obtain two degrees in the dual study programme: a BA (Bachelor of Arts) through your studies and a recognised vocational training qualification (e.g. as a hotel clerk or similar) if it is an apprenticeship-integrating dual study programme.

Dual students go through all departments at their Maritim Hotel:

At reception and reservations, everything revolves around communicating with guests and the booking process
In gastronomy you learn how to put a smile on guests' faces at breakfast and the art of preparing cocktails at the bar
Housekeeping goes far beyond checking hotel rooms for cleanliness. It also includes working with external service providers and checking inventory of materials

In addition, you will gain insight into administrative areas.
